About
I’m a free-lance materials writer who has lived in Mexico City for over 35 years (28 in the same apartment). I also teach inexperienced teachers how to use the Internet (see http://www.efltasks.net). I got interested in social media and interaction on-line on seeing my daughter’s hi5 page. It’s like Facebook, but for younger people. I’m now starting to explore….
I grew up in San Diego and got a BA at San Diego State, an MA at the National University in Mexico and I’m ABD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. All my official studies were in Spanish. I worked at the Bi-national center in Mexico City for 18 years until it closed, then went on to be the Coordinator of the English program at a private, multi-campus, multi-level university (high school through Master’s level) with over 30000 students. After doing that for around 8 years, I switched over to materials writing. I was on the Board of Directors of TESOL a few years ago and edited the MEXTESOL Journal for 7 years.
On a personal level, I’ve been married to the same man for 35 years and have two children (daughter a chef and son doing a PhD at Imperial College) and two adorable granddaughters, 2 and 4 months.
